We started the term looking at the book 'One Little Word' by Joseph Coelho, illustrated by Allison Colpoys. We produced self portraits in the style of the artist. They look amazing!
PE. This term in PE we will be creating Jungle animal movements to music, incorporating some of our previously learn gymnastics skills and completing sessions with CT Coaching continuing work on skill for team games.
English. We have been reading 'Rumble in the Jungle' by Giles Andrea. We worked together in a group to act out scene of the wagoll - ending in a freeze frame. The audience had to identify which part of the wagoll was being shown. We did a good job!
GEOGRAPHY. We are investigating the different tropical jungles of the world. We started by looking at a word map to understand where the equator is and why this is the hottest part of our planet.
PHSE: As part of our enrichment opportunities we were lucky to have workshops from both Worcester County Council and Severn Trent Water.
SCIENCE: We have been fascinated by the weather in the tropical forests, so following a lesson on 'Cloud Forests' we knew we needed to investigate the water cycle further. We spent a few lessons conducting some experiments to understand this concept.
ART: We have been learning about Henri Rousseau as part of our Jungles topic. We have learnt about the artist and how he never went to any Jungles before he painted them. We have enjoyed learning about colour theory before we create our mixed media collage final pieces.
DT: This term in DT we have been looking at Textiles and how to design and make a product. We made jungle themed animal puppets.
