Welcome to Suckley School
'Happy, Aspirational and Ready for Life'
I am delighted to welcome you to our small community school which is set in beautiful rural surroundings, close to the local village and church. We take a maximum of 90 pupils and offer smaller than average class sizes with excellent pupil to adult ratios.
Our aim is to provide all children with meaningful and engaging learning experiences that will stay with them for life. Our dedicated staff team is committed to providing a secure and happy place in which to learn, one in which all children are able to thrive and to achieve their very best and we have high expectations of ourselves and of the children. Excellent progress for all children is our goal.
We offer an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum which is tailored to the interests of our school community, and to do this invest heavily in enrichment and outdoor learning opportunities. We are proud to be one of only eight schools in the country offering accredited Forest School Practice, and to have received validation for this. The Arts play a key role in bringing our curriculum to life, and to allow children to discover and draw upon their natural talents - approximately twenty percent of our children take part in music lessons in school time and delight in sharing their learning. We are delighted to have been awarded the accolade of Arts Mark Gold this year, Equally important, are aspirations for healthy and active lives, thus the award of Sports Mark Gold also this year!
We are also pleased to run the Thrive program, a way of assessing and supporting children’s emotional and social development so that we can provide personalised learning programs at the time when a child may most need them.
I am always delighted to spend time showing parents and children around our school and to talk about our aims, vision and teaching and learning, so please feel welcome to book an opportunity to visit us.
