Autumn 2020

Christmas Around the World

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...christingles, nativities and Santa!

What a fantastic afternoon! A beautiful, muddy and super speedy cross country run

So much excitement today, when Bernard the elf arrived from the North Pole

Wooden Christmas decorations, hammocks and our own jungle showers!

We made an antidote for George’s medicine today- we hope it works 🤞🏻

As part of our learning about Hinduism we have been talking about Diwali celebrations. At forest school we made diva lamps from clay

George and his Beastly Grandmother joined us today and the Woodpecker’s had plenty of questions for them!

Hello Woodpeckers 2020-2021

We are so looking forward to welcoming you all back to school and have our corridors, classrooms and playground filled with smiling faces again! We hope you are excited too, although we know some of you may be feeling a bit anxious about returning to school after such a strange few months and we are all here to help you to settle back in and love learning and being with your friends again.

This term our topic is...Exploring Great Britain.  We are going to look at all the things that make where we live just so great!  We will travel back in time to find out all about the Anglo Saxons, explore the geography of our continent and find out about fabulous British artists and amazing inventors!

We can't wait to start building our brains with new skills, facts and knowledge- keep checking our class page to keep up-to-date with all the fun we will be having in Woodpeckers!

See you all very soon,

Mrs B, Miss Rogers and Mrs Butler

Woodpecker's have settled back into school routine brilliantly and have been working very hard- here they are getting to grips with place value using base 10

We have used Here We Are to explore our world and our place in it

We love reading- We can visit so many amazing worlds through a book! At the moment we are LOVING Fantastic Mr Fox

Today we were historians...we discovered artefacts found at The Sutton Hoo site and thought about who might be buried there...

We are spotting Woodpecker’s showing our school values all the time and add a marble when we do 💗

In Woodpeckers we have a growth mindset. We know there are some things we can’t do...yet...but it won’t stop us
