Maths

Good morning Robins!

Today in our maths we are going to now move onto learning about how to tell the time!

Using your clocks today this will help you to learn about an hour!

How many hours are there in a day?

How many minutes in an hour?

When we add an hour it means that we are looking at our clock to the next hour or the hour that has just gone.

For example if it was 4 o'clock the next hour would be 5 o'clock

Have a go at adding on an hour to each of these times. Use a clock to help you. Then have a go at the challenge!

Task:

What hour will be next:

6 o'clock -

11 o'clock -

9 o'clock -

3 o'clock

What hour was before:

5 o'clock

2 o'clock

1 o'clock

8 o'clock

Challenge:

If it was 4 o'clock two hours ago what time is it now?

Sam said he was going to be at the park at 3 o'clock. It's 12 o'clock now, how long do I have to wait until it's time?

Sally thinks it's 5 o'clock because the big hand is on the 5 and the little hand is on the 12. Is Sally right or wrong?
