Talk task.

What sort of animal is Sunny? Can you describe him? What does he look like? Where does he live? What about his family – Can you describe them too?

Look at the picture below.

Sunny writes a note to his family when he starts his adventure.

I want you to imagine you are going on an adventure. Where would you like to go?

Let us think -What would you need for your trip?

Can you make a list of all the things you would need to pack into your bag.  Draw a suitcase – or use the template below.

Draw all the objects you would want to take on your trip. Write the names of the things you have packed.

I started to fill my suitcase.

Can you see all the items I packed? What other objects would you want to take?

Have fun!

Summer Term Week 3

4th May 2020

Hi Wrens,

Happy Monday! Hope you've had a good weekend. We have finished our Handa's Surprise story and you have designed some beautiful animals and fruit from the story and written some amazing sentences.

Your task this week ...should you choose to accept it...is to see if you can make your own story using different animals, fruit and characters and give it a different title! Do you remember how we loved learning the story "We're Going On a Bear Hunt" and then worked as a class to make up our own version? Now you can try and do this all by yourself!

I look forward to hearing your stories!! This might take you a while, that is ok. Take as long as you need and make it as short or long as you like. You can bring them into school when we return and share them with the class.

Can you design your own giraffe and pineapple and write a simple sentence about them. You could even use the words from the story but see if you can write them independently. Remember capital letters, finger spaces and a full stop at the end .

Here are a few ideas of how to make your giraffe and pineapple but feel free to come up with your own ideas.

Week 1

20th April 2020

Good Morning Wrens and welcome back to a new term. In our Topic this half term we will be learning about Plants and animals. Our Literacy learning will be linked to our topic and we will begin with a book that we know you will be familiar with:

Handa's Surprise!

Follow the link below to listen to the story and if you have the book at home go and hunt for it!

When you have listened to the story can you make the banana and the monkey out of whatever you would like! Things from the garden, collage cutting and sticking, painting or even drawing with mud and sticks. Can you make a label for them and then if you can,  write 2 simple sentences, one about the monkey and the other about the banana.

Enjoy the story!

The monkey so far...

Alfie's monkey and banana

Archie made a handprint monkey and worked out how to make brown paint as he didn't have any! He then scrunched tissue to make his banana!

Grayson made a huge monkey and banana in the garden and found dandelions to decorate his banana! We love them! He then wrote a sentence.
